Meet Our Team

Karl Swager is a member of the October Three software development team with over 30 years of experience. In the late 1980’s he chose to step away from the traditional IT career path and move from a management role back into a software development role. He often paraphrases a Pike Nurseries slogan saying that he “wants to play in the code again”. Prior to becoming involved with retirement administration software at CCA Strategies in 2002, Karl spent several years working with agricultural software including 10 years with commodity management and accounting solutions, and then another 5 years at the farm level developing a suite of precision crop record keeping applications.

Karl graduated from Illinois State University with a B.S. in Computer Science. One of his first projects out of college was a Construction Management application that is still in use today (although it has gone through many upgrades). Since the early 1980’s he has been the sole developer involved with maintaining and growing this application.
