Amber Herbert

Benefits Consultant (Jacksonville)

Amber Herbert is a Benefits Consultant at October Three and a Plan Manager on the defined benefit plan administration team. She has over 12 years of experience in the DB industry, with the last 5 years at October Three.

Prior to joining October Three, Amber worked for what is now known as Alight Solutions (i.e., formerly known as Northgate Arinso). Amber’s role included interpreting plan provisions and analyzing data, completing manual calculations for union and non-union participants, updating and testing pension systems, conducting plan audits, managing escalations, and driving process improvements.

Amber began her career at October Three focusing on manual calculations, writing plan provision requirements (i.e., benefit specifications), and developing participant communication templates across a wide variety of pension plans both cash balance and traditional as well as active and frozen plans.

As Amber’s expertise grew, she became a Plan Manager and the day-to-day contact for her clients. In her Plan Manager role, Amber conducts client status meetings, manages overall service delivery including oversight of service level agreements (SLAs), researches questions, troubleshoots issues and ensures monthly compliance reporting.

Amber is currently enrolled in the CEBS program, studying the first course, Retirement Plan Associate (RPA 1).
